Irrigation Engineering

The Western Kansas Agricultural Research Centers irrigation program's goal is to develop new irrigation technologies that will be environmentally and economically efficient while conserving and protecting limited water resources.

Irrigation engineering techniques and procedures are utilized to improve management of all water resources for crop production through more efficient use and conservation.

Current emphasis is on research at improving irrigated corn production particularly with subsurface drip irrigation (SDI) and in-canopy center pivot sprinkler irrigation.
